OBSERVATION: It is easy to become focused on gaining knowledge of God. Knowing His word is important, but it's not complete. God does not see and love me for the knowledge and understanding I have of Him, but rather by the love I show Him.
APPLICATION: Today, let me show God my love by loving those around me, even when they push my buttons, by making Him a priority in my day and by thanking Him for what he has done for me.
PRAYER: God, thank you for your love and desire to know me. It's hard to believe that God wants to know an average person like me. But I want to be known by you. Forgive me for all the times when I think and act like it's all about me, when it's really all about loving you. Help me to show your love to everyone I interact with today.

God is doing amazing things in regards to protecting kids that I work with and protecting me. Thank you for the reminder to live like we love Him and not just coast on how much we know about Him. I use to take pride in what I knew and studied about God. It doesn't mean much if we aren't living it and loving others. Going to read now.

ReplyDeleteI loved your prayer. Thank you. Sometimes, when I'm really bitter about something--maybe something someone has said, or done, that I consider a personal attack--God puts these words in my head "Tracey, get over yourself." Those are the days that I am blessed. Thanks for reminding me.

Thanks Julie. I have found that my default mode is knowledge acquisition rather than living out my love for him by loving those who need to know him. I have appreciated the Love Dare because it reminds me daily that "it's not all about me" but about Christ living in and through me.
